Puff Pastry Meat Pie
National Pie Week is 2nd-7th march 2020 and this week i am sharing my first of 3 pie recipes with you all.
In this recipe I will guide you in making the infamous Nigerian meat pie with a puff pastry twist!
All the same flavours, just less pastry.
1kg Mince Beef
Jus-Rol Puff pastry
Heat up the pan and add sprigs of Thyme, Minced garlic, handful of onions and all the spices and allow to simmer.
Add the minced Beef and 2 seasoning cubes and cook until beef has browned.
Add in the Carrots, potatoes and remaining onions and leave on low to medium heat until the vegetables are cooked through.
Mix 2 tablespoons of cornflour with a little bit of cold water and to the meat until al the stock has turned into a paste and become one with the mix.
Roll out Puff pastry and cut to desired shape, fill with meat mixture and seal edges with a fork, cook in a preheated oven on 200 degrees celsius (fan oven) for 20 minutes.
& there we have it flaky, moist puff pastry meat pies filled to your hearts content and full of flavour.
